Race Gear and Clothing

Clothing: Layers are the best way to go. The weather can vary and change at the drop of a hat. Wick away gear is great! Avoid cotton gear because it retains water. Bring warm jackets a hat, and gloves.

Equipment: We suggest the use of stabilizers, snowshoes, track skis, telemark or heavy metal gear. Poles and headlamps are strongly recommended.

Clothes for After the Race: Volunteers will be at the base of the mountain in the Aspen Skiing Company ticket office an hour before the race collecting warm, dry equipment that racers would like to have at the Sundeck when they finish the race. Bring warm, dry clothes to volunteers and they will make sure that it arrives and is waiting for you when you finish the race.
